Adidas AG reported upbeat first-quarter results supported by strong momentum in its apparel division and healthy demand for its football, running and training products.

First-quarter sales climbed to €6.6 billion ($7.7 billion) on a currency-neutral basis, according to a statement Wednesday. That surpassed the €6.3 billion average of analyst estimates, while operating profit of €705 million also exceeded expectations.
