Adidas Banks on Marathon Feat Energizing Its Running-Shoe Sales

Adidas AG is keen to exploit the buzz around the world’s first sub-two hour marathon, but the German sneaker brand said it still needs to up its game if it wants to dominate the running market globally.

“We bragged about the world record, but it’s not only that,” Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Gulden told reporters Wednesday, just three days after Kenyan Sabastian Sawe’s record-breaking performance in London in the new Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 racing shoe.
