Spain’s Premier Urges Cities to Give Sanctuary to Migrants

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez defended the country’s pro-migrant policies and called on other major cities around the world to become sanctuaries of diversity.

“I ask you to continue leading at the local level, always standing by your residents regardless of how long they’ve been registered or their country of origin,” Sánchez told a gathering of mayors from major cities at the Bloomberg CityLab conference in Madrid.
