Spain’s cement consumption hit a 15-year first-quarter high, after a March rebound more than offset a slump caused by historically heavy rains.

Demand jumped by 8.5% in the first three months from a year earlier, and in March by 27.7%, the fastest annual gain since the pandemic, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Oficemen, the national cement producers’ association.
