South Africa Extends Tax Cuts on Fuel Price to Offset War Impact
South Africa extended cuts to fuel taxes as the prolonged conflict in the Middle East threatens to raise domestic gasoline and diesel prices even further.
The 3-rand ($0.18) per liter reduction in gasoline levies announced at the end of last month will continue until June 2, the National Treasury said in a statement on Tuesday. In addition, temprorary relief for diesel will be increased by 93 cents to 3.93 rand per liter over that period, it said.
