Central Banks
Norway, Sweden Are Seen Hiking Rates by Early 2027 in Survey
Economists surveyed by Bloomberg now expect both Norges Bank and the Riksbank to tighten monetary policy within the next 12 months.
Norway’s central bank is set to raise its key rate this quarter by a quarter-point to 4.25%, followed by a similar-sized cut in the second quarter of next year, according to the median estimate of 16 economists. This compares with last month’s projection of unchanged borrowing costs until the start of 2027.
