Colombia Attacks Target Security Forces, Civilians Ahead of Vote
A bomb blast in southwestern Colombia killed at least seven people on Saturday during a wave of attacks on security forces and civilians that President Gustavo Petro blamed on a cocaine-trafficking militia.
At least 20 people were injured in the attack in Cauca province, according to Octavio Guzmán, the regional governor. He said the attacks were retaliation for successful operations by the security forces in Cauca, one Colombia’s most conflict-torn regions.
