New Zealand’s nascent economic recovery has been impacted by the war in Iran, but is still expected to get back on track later this year, Finance Minister Nicola Willis said.

“Treasury’s advice to me is that New Zealand’s economic recovery is delayed, but not derailed,” Willis said Thursday in Wellington. “Bank economists also expect the economy to keep growing in 2026. What we are presenting to you is a picture of an economy that has been disrupted, but not derailed and will continue to grow this year.”
