Citi’s Banamex Names BanBajio’s Del Rincon as Next CEO

Citigroup Inc.’s Mexican retail bank Grupo Financiero Banamex tapped the former head of Banco del Bajio as its new chief executive officer, as Banamex seeks to bolster its business ahead of a planned share offering.

Edgardo del Rincon, who was previously CEO of Banco del Bajio, will replace current Banamex chief Manuel Romo, who has led the bank since late 2019, the bank said in a statement Wednesday. Romo will stay in the role until June 1, the bank said.
