China Lauds ‘Relevant Nations’ Over Scrapped Taiwan Leader Trip
China indicated it was pleased with three countries that apparently blocked Taiwan President Lai Ching-te’s trip to an African diplomatic ally, as Beijing seeks to further isolate the self-ruled democracy.
“We appreciate the position and practices of the relevant nations in adhering to the One‑China principle,” Zhang Han, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
