Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Names Brandweiner as CIO

Australia’s sovereign wealth fund, the A$335 billion ($240 billion) Future Fund, named Richard Brandweiner as chief investment officer, ending a months-long search to fill the role.

Brandweiner was previously chief executive officer of Pendal Group until 2023 and has been working as an independent director and consultant for the past two years, according to a statement Thursday. He was also previously the CIO of pension fund First State Super for four years. Hugh Murray will continue as the Future Fund’s interim CIO until Brandweiner begins his new role on July 1.
