UK’s Ofcom Opens Telegram Probe on Child Sexual Abuse Concerns

UK regulators are investigating messaging service Telegram after finding evidence that some users were sharing child sexual abuse material on the platform.

Communications regulator Ofcom said Tuesday it is examining whether Telegram is complying with its duties under the Online Safety Act, which requires platforms to halt the spread of this type of material.
