Russia is expanding its military logistics network in West Africa, using the port of Conakry in Guinea as a key transit hub for equipment bound for Mali, an investigation by The Sentry has found.

Russian cargo vessels docked in Guinea’s capital between January and May last year, offloading military vehicles and materiel that was later transported overland to Bamako, the Washington-based group said, citing satellite imagery and shipping data.
