Brazil Economists Lift Selic 2026, 2027 Forecasts on Oil Spike

Brazil economists raised their forecasts for the benchmark interest rate for this year and next as an energy price spike from the war in Iran reverberates though Latin America’s biggest economy.

The Selic will reach 13% by December, up from 12.5% previously, according to a weekly central bank survey of economistsBloomberg Terminal published Monday. For 2027, forecasts rose to 11% from 10.5%.
