Russia’s Oil Windfall From Middle East War Keeps Growing
Russia is on course for another oil-tax windfall as the war in the Middle East drives up prices, as well as demand for the country’s crude.
Key export blend Urals sold at Russia’s western ports averaged $106.30 a barrel in the first 13 days of April, according to Argus Media, whose data is used by Moscow to calculate oil taxes. That’s a 42% jump from March, when prices were also pushed higher by the escalating conflict.
