Japanese Bathtub Makers Halt Orders as Material Shortages Bite

Major Japanese home equipment supplier Cleanup Corp. has suspended orders for its popular bathroom units, the latest in a string of companies suffering material shortages as the Iran conflict stretches on.

Tokyo-based Cleanup will stop taking orders from Wednesday, the company announced in a statement on its website. “Due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, it has become increasingly difficult to procure raw materials,” the company said. It didn’t give an expected resumption date. Shares fell 0.8% to 904 yen.
