Guotai Junan’s Former ECM Head Is Said to Lead Share Sales After Raid
Guotai Junan International Holdings Ltd. has brought in a former senior equity capital markets banker to lead share sales after last month’s raids in Hong Kong that shook the city’s financial sector, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Chinese investment bank has tapped Jean Li, who left her post as co-head of equity capital markets in late 2024, to take charge of such deals, the people said, asking not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly. Li took up the role in an interim capacity, and the firm is also in the market to look for candidates for a senior equity capital markets role, some of the people said.
