UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is pushing for Lebanon to be included in the US-Iran ceasefire deal, signaling international concern that continued fighting on Israel’s northern frontier could unravel the truce.

Iranian officials said the ceasefire had been violated after Israel launched its largest assault of the current conflict on its northern neighbor, and Cooper used a round of broadcast interviews on Thursday to describe the escalation as “wrong” and “damaging.” That came after French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the Israeli strikes as “indiscriminate.”
