Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Kyiv will “mirror” Russia’s actions after President Vladimir Putin announced a brief Orthodox Easter ceasefire, shifting the focus to whether Moscow would actually halt fighting on the ground.

Putin said the truce would begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday and last through Sunday, ordering Russia’s military to cease combat operations in all directions for the period, according to the Kremlin. He also called on Kyiv to follow Russia’s example and observe the ceasefire as well.
