Baidu Inc. is betting on the breakout success of OpenClaw to offset a decline in its core business. Its latest push: smart speakers serving as a voice-controlled remote for the viral AI agent.

China’s search leader is integrating OpenClaw — the open-source framework that can autonomously perform digital chores — with its Xiaodu devices. That provides users with an alternative to the chat-based interfaces offered by rivals like Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s WeChat.
