Key Congo Copper Export Route Reopens After Rain Damaged Bridge

The main export route for copper out of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the world’s second-biggest producer of the metal, reopened to traffic after heavy rains had washed away a section of it at the weekend.

The road that passes through northern Zambia is operational after works were completed on a temporary detour, the nation’s Road Development Agency said in a statement posted to its Facebook page late Tuesday.
