Ghana is pushing to engage Russia to find common ways to stop its citizens from being lured into fighting for them in Ukraine after 55 are believed to have died on the front lines since the war began in 2022.

Response from the Russian side “have not been forthcoming,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa told Bloomberg in an interview Friday. “We need to engage them some more.”
