Live Nation Judge Inclined to Allow Antitrust Trial Next Week

A federal judge in New York indicated he’ll allow federal antitrust enforcers to proceed with a trial set to start Monday against Ticketmaster-owner Live Nation Entertainment Inc. over claims that the company illegally monopolized the live events industry.

At a hearing Wednesday, US District Judge Arun Subramanian said he would likely deny Live Nation’s request a delay to allow the company to appeal his decision from last week that the case should move forward to a jury. The judge said he’d issue his written ruling in coming days.
