The European Union will on April 15 unveil a proposal to ban the remaining imports of Russian oil, just three days after elections in Hungary, one of the last nations still reliant on the supplies, according to a document seen by Bloomberg.

The so-called RePowerEU proposal to phase out the last Russian barrels flowing into the EU comes after the bloc agreed a similar prohibition last year on gas by 2027. The measure obliged member states to prepare plans to diversify their oil supplies, but stopped short of a ban.
