Lagarde Says ECB Must Be Agile When Setting Interest Rates

The European Central Bank must be “agile” in setting monetary policy, despite currently being well positioned, according to President Christine Lagarde.

“We have to assess whether we are in that good place that I’m characterizing now,” the Frenchwoman said Monday in Washington. That implies “that we have to be agile and determine whether something needs to be done.”
