Iceland is on track with its preparations for a referendum on restarting talks with the European Union on potential future membership, said Foreign Minister Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir.

“I will submit a bill on the referendum before the summer but the date for that is undecided,” Gunnarsdottir said by phone on Monday, after Politico reported such a plebiscite could be held as soon as August, citing people it didn’t identify.
