Philippine VP Duterte Declares Plan to Run for President in 2028

Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte said she will run for president in the next election in 2028, declaring her bid amid a deepening feud with the incumbent leader and fresh impeachment attempts against her.

“I offer my life, my strength and my future in the service of our nation,” she said at a briefing on Wednesday. “I am Sara Duterte, I will run for the Philippine presidency.”
