India and the UK formed a task force to develop offshore wind projects in the South Asian country, which is looking to harness at least 71 gigawatts of potential energy off its coastlines.

The partnership is a working mechanism to develop India’s offshore wind ecosystem, India’s Renewables Minister Pralhad Joshi said in a statement Wednesday. While UK, the world’s second-biggest developer of wind turbines in the sea, can help with supply chains, India offers scale and long-term demand for the projects, the statement said.
