Carney Poaches Third Conservative Defector, Chasing Majority

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said another Conservative opposition member has joined his Liberal caucus, bringing his party closer to a majority in the House of Commons.

The defection of Matt Jeneroux to the governing party brings the total Liberal members of Parliament to 169, just short of the 172 needed to hold a majority of seats.
