Four Dead in Massive Pileup on Colorado Highway During Windstorm
At least four people were killed and nearly 29 others were taken to hospitals after a massive pileup on a southern Colorado highway Tuesday, as powerful winds whipped up dust that reduced visibility, authorities said.
The crash involved more than 30 vehicles on Interstate 25 south of Denver after heavy winds created what officials described as brownout conditions — blowing dirt across the roadway that made it difficult for drivers to see. Both lanes of the I-25 were closed, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
