BGN Hires More Trading Veterans and Eyes Oil, Refining Assets

A low-profile commodities trading house is adding more industry veterans to its roster as it looks to scale up operations and compete with bigger rivals.

BGN, which moves about 50 million tons of goods a year, currently ranks itself in the top ten privately owned energy and commodities merchants by volume. But the trader — with offices in Geneva, Dubai, Houston and elsewhere — is eying a string of investments to help it grow.
