Australia’s Opposition Leader Taylor Unveils New Shadow Ministry

Australia’s new Liberal opposition leader Angus Taylor unveiled his shadow ministry on Tuesday with fresh faces in key portfolios ranging from treasury to defense as he seeks to reverse a slide in the fortunes of the center-right Coalition.

Victorian Tim Wilson, a rare Liberal who managed to regain his Melbourne seat at the otherwise disastrous May 2025 election, is the new shadow treasurer. Wilson was chair of the prestigious House Economics Committee prior to losing his seat in May 2022.
