The European Union’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas rejected the picture of the bloc’s decline painted by the Trump administration and urged member states to accelerate Ukraine’s membership bid as a sign of the bloc’s power.

“Europe is not facing civilizational erasure, people actually want to join our club — the waiting list is quite long,” Kallas said Sunday at the Munich Security Conference, endorsing Kyiv’s push for fast-track accession. “Enlargement is a geopolitical priority and we must say yes,” she added.
