A Senate hearing laid bare divisions over President Trump’s immigration crackdown, but also showed Republican concerns over the aggressive tactics used by agents, which resulted in the deaths of two US citizens.

At the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Thursday, lawmakers scrutinized video of deadly street encounters in Minneapolis, replaying and pausing footage as they pressed the leaders of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and US Customs and Border Protection to defend agents’ use of force.
