Fincantieri SpA will deepen its shift toward defense, prioritizing military shipbuilding in Italy while relocating parts of cruise-ship production abroad as part of its new five-year business plan.

The company plans investments worth about €1.9 billion ($2.26 billion) through 2030, it said Thursday in a statement. Italian shipyards will double production capacity, with new contracts expected as early as this year.
