Mistral Invests €1.2 Billion in Swedish AI Data Center Buildout

French startup Mistral AI is investing €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) to build AI infrastructure in Sweden, as it pushes to become the go-to artificial intelligence supplier for governments and enterprises in Europe.

The AI data center will be located in Borlänge in partnership with infrastructure provider EcoDataCenter AB, Mistral said in a statement Wednesday. The facility will house the advanced computing power needed to train and run Mistral’s AI models and is scheduled to be operational from 2027.
