New York Faces Slippery Evening Commute as Storm Moves in Fast
A quick-moving winter storm will bring a glazing of ice and snow to the New York area as soon as 6 p.m. local time, threatening to turn the evening commute into a slick ride home for some Tuesday.
The worst will be in the Bronx, Queens, parts of northern Long Island and New Jersey, where a winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn will likely get a wintery mix of rain and snow with little accumulation expected.
