Brazil’s Inflation Rises, Clouding Size of March Rate Cut

Brazil’s inflation picked up in January, bolstering expectations that the Central Bank will move cautiously as it prepares to cut interest rates.

Consumer prices rose 4.44% from a year earlier, slightly above the 4.43% median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg, according to data released Tuesday by the national statistics agency. Prices climbed 0.33% from December.
