Trump Backs Television Broadcaster Nexstar’s Bid for Tegna

President Donald Trump backed television broadcaster Nexstar Media Group’s proposed $3.5 billion acquisition of Tegna Inc., reversing his earlier opposition to the idea and saying it would be good for competition.

“Letting Good Deals get done like Nexstar - Tegna will help knock out the Fake News because there will be more competition, and at a higher and more sophisticated level,” he wrote in a Truth Social post Saturday. “Those that are opposed don’t fully understand how good the concept of this Deal is for them, but they will in the future.”
