Saab AB said the appeal of its Gripen fighter jet has brightened because of the increasingly fraught geopolitical landscape, including tensions between the US and Canada.

Canada is evaluating whether to purchase more Lockheed Martin Corp. F-35 jets or pursue a mixed fleet. If Canada buys Gripens, Saab could make the aircraft for the country and other customers, Mikael Franzen, chief marketing officer of the Gripen program, said at the Singapore Airshow on Wednesday.
