Morocco deployed hundreds of buses and security personnel to help evacuate the entire population of a flood-stricken northern city that’s at risk of being inundated.

The North African nation has experienced a spell of wet and cold weather since December, which initially came as a relief after seven consecutive years of drought. But concern over the safety of the 120,000 people living in the historic city of Ksar El-Kbir began mounting last week as heavy rains raised the threat of increased flooding across the lowlands of the broader Loukkous region.
