The head of Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission resigned, 18 months before elections scheduled for August next year.

Marjan Hussein Marjan is leaving “after reaching an agreement to terminate his services by mutual consent,” according to a statement by the agency. The process of recruiting a successor is under way, it said.
