Former UK Cabinet Minister Peter Mandelson has resigned as a member of the House of Lords after the UK government said it had referred communications between him and Jeffrey Epstein to the police.
An initial assessment by the Cabinet Office judged those emails to contain “market-sensitive information” that should have been subject to “strict handling conditions” to prevent it being passed to anyone outside of government, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s spokesperson Tom Wells told reporters on Tuesday.
