Phil Mickelson-Touted Sable Probed by SEC on Insider Information

Federal investigators have subpoenaed Texas-based oil driller Sable Offshore Corp. following a report from Hunterbrook Media that the company selectively disclosed information to investors, including pro golfer Phil Mickelson.

Sable said in a filing early Tuesday that it had received subpoenas on Dec. 2 from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the SEC requesting documents related to a late-October Hunterbrook Media report. Sable, in the immediate aftermath of the report, formed a special committee to probe the allegations.
