India will step up outlay for electronics component manufacturing to 400 billion rupees ($4.3 billion) as the government seeks to boost goods exports from the nation.

The plan, announced in Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget speech Sunday, may help support high-tech pursuits of India’s leading conglomerates, most notably the Tata Group, Adani Group, Reliance Industries and the Godrej Group.
