Philippine Regulator Charges Villar Land on Market Manipulation

The Philippine market regulator has filed a criminal complaint against the property-holding firm of the country’s second-richest man, Manuel Villar.

The Securities and Exchange Commission said in a statement on Saturday that it charged Villar Land Holdings Corp., its related entities and some executives with market manipulation, insider trading and misleading disclosures.
