Italy’s Outlook Raised to Positive by S&P in New Meloni Win
Italy’s credit rating outlook was raised to positive from stable by S&P Global Ratings, the latest victory for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The country “has demonstrated resilience in the face of trade and tariff uncertainty, posting net current account surpluses that support private wealth, and continuous improvements in the country’s net external creditor position,” the credit assessor said on Friday in a statement that also affirmed its BBB+ rating — three notches above junk.
