China Lifts Sanctions on British Parliamentarians It Had Barred

China has lifted restrictions on British parliamentarians it had banned from visiting the country, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Friday, as he sought to highlight the gains he’s made by traveling to the Asian nation.

“A lot of my colleagues in Parliament have been concerned about the restrictions that have been applied to a number of individuals in parliament and I therefore raised that in the course of this visit,” Starmer told Channel 4 News in Shanghai. “The response from the Chinese has been that the restrictions no longer apply and President Xi said to me that what that means is that all parliamentarians are welcome to visit China.”
