Canadian Stocks Fall Most Since Tariff Turmoil Amid Metals Rout
Canadian stocks had their worst day since the market chaos in the wake of April’s tariff announcement, as a slide in precious metals sent mining stocks tumbling.
The S&P/TSX Composite index fell 3.3% on Friday, its biggest drop since April 4. At the time, the index was in free-fall for several days after President Donald Trump announced the US would be imposing a raft of tariffs on global trading partners.
