Wells Fargo Boosts CEO Pay 28% to $40 Million in Key Year

Photographer: Kyle Grillot/BloombergWells Fargo & Co. boosted Chief Executive Officer Charlie Scharf’s pay by 28% to $40 million for 2025, the highest level for a top leader of the bank in decades as Scharf helped the firm emerge from a major regulatory constraint.
Scharf made $2.5 million in base salary and $37.5 million for a bonus in 2025, according to a filing Thursday. That was up from a salary of $2.5 million and a bonus of $28.7 million a year earlier.
